The company has introduced this new solar cell manufacturing line, which is currently in production, with the intention of meeting the increasing worldwide demand for its product.

Suniva completed its first 32MW manufacturing line in November 2008, following which it started working on an additional 64MW line that was completed in 2009.

With the expansion in its manufacturing capacity along with the increase in diverse and skilled workforce, Suniva hopes to produce technology and generate solar cell efficiencies both in the lab and in manufacturing. The company’s cell production is sold out through 2010.

John Baumstark, chairman and CEO of Suniva, said: “Demand for our high-efficiency, low-cost solar cells and modules continues to increase rapidly, which is a testament to the quality of Suniva’s products.

“We are pleased to have the ability to quickly expand our capacity, maintain a low-cost structure, hire additional employees and help the US lead the new clean-energy economy.”
