SunPower, in collaboration with the City of Tucson, Arizona, Tucson Water Department and Trico Electric, installed the ground-mounted solar power system.
The City of Tucson financed the solar system through a power purchase agreement with SunPower.
Under the agreement, Wells Fargo owns the system that SunPower designed, built, operates and maintains.
Trico Electric, the utility serving the site, provided additional funding through its SunWatts renewable energy incentive program and will purchase the renewable energy credits associated with the system.
The City of Tucson is hosting the solar power system and buying the electricity produced by it.
Tucson Water interim director Andrew Quigley said SunPower’s technology will ensure that the system delivers energy in a cost effective manner that benefits the community.
