Under a supply agreement, SunPower will deliver 24MW (dc) of high efficiency solar panels to NRG by the end of this year.
The balance of megawatts, as well as a portion of the 2011 panels, will support NRG’s 26MW (ac) Borrego solar project in San Diego County, for which SunPower is supplying its SunPower Oasis Power Plant technology.
The Borrego project has a 25-year power purchase agreement with SDG&E that has been approved by the California Public Utilities Commission.
SunPower and NRG recently started construction of the 250MW California Valley Solar Ranch project in San Luis Obispo County.
