SunPower has worked with Korean energy firm, EnE System, to develop the plant, which is owned by Hampyeong Solar Plus. The facility is expected to generate 1.8 million kWh of electricity per year.

At the power plant site, SunPower installed panels which are up to 50% more efficient than conventional panels, as well solar tracking systems, which reportedly increase daily energy production compared to fixed-tilt systems.

Stanley Bae, SunPower’s general manager in Korea, said: By utilizing the SunPower solar technology, Hampyeong Solar Plus is maximizing both their financial returns and the environmental benefits of this solar power plant.
