Electricity produced at the each of the sites will be sold to IPL under a 15-year power purchase agreement.

Sun Energy managing director Dean Leischow said that the cumulative electricity produced by the three stations will power about 7,500 homes in the state.

The company currently owns and operates several solar projects in the state, which include – a 2.9MW facility in New Mexico with an additional 2.5MW under development for Xcel Energy besides a 5.2MW project in North Carolina for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

"This is a significant project, and SEV is proud to be developing the largest cumulative solar power project in the Midwest," added Leischow.
