Earlier in his career, Kin was one of the US sales executives from US multinationals to market high-tech systems in China.

“We are very pleased to add Dr. Kin to our Board of Directors,” said Joseph R. Bronson, chief executive officer for SVTC. “We will benefit tremendously from his experience as we grow our global presence and expand our customer base for outsourced development and low-volume manufacturing services.”

Prior to Taiwan Semiconductor, Kin also served as vice president (VP), worldwide sales and services of IBM Microelectronics, VP and director of operations for the Computer Group at Motorola Inc., and has fulfilled various sales and marketing roles for several other Asia Pacific companies.

“I am excited at this opportunity to help SVTC expand its unique role as an independent resource for commercializing silicon-based technologies,” said Kin. “Manufacturers around the world have a great need to bring innovative technologies and products to market quickly while protecting their IP, and many will find their solutions at SVTC.”

Now retired from Taiwan Semiconductor, he holds the position of professor and Associate Dean for the National Tsing Hua University’s College of Technology Management in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Kin graduated with a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in nuclear engineering and applied physics from Columbia University in New York, and holds a bachelor’s degree from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.
