The project is being reviewed again after federal government rejected the permit for the project earlier in 2010 after the company proposed to drain out Fish Lake.

However, the company has included the preservation of Fish Lake alongside proposing 23% of reduction in hectares of disturbance to land and water committing $300m towards environmental responsibility.

"It will provide training and employment opportunities for First Nations and enable members, particularly youth, to train and work where they live and remain in their communities," the company said in its statement.

Taseko estimates output of recover 7.7 million ounces of gold and 3.6 billion pounds of copper over a 20-year mine life.
