The latest deal falls under the existing Front End Loading (FEL) alliance between Technip and Sasol in the GTL domain.

Technip will monitor the operations of the project from its operating center in Rome, Italy, while the new facility will have a capacity to produce around 96,000 barrels per day.

Technip region B senior vice president Marco Villa said the alliance established with Sasol is a win-win example of owner and contractor collaboration.

"We are proud to participate in this GTL FEED project, highlighting our leading position worldwide in major GTL facilities," Villa added.

Technip operates a fleet of specialized vessels for pipeline installation and subsea construction in about 48 countries.
