The concentrating solar power (CSP) technology will be deployed at the facility to capture heat generated by sunlight to convert into electricity.

Under the contract, TEi will deliver ten feedwater heaters; four high-pressure, six low-pressure units, and two moisture separators, while Struthers Wells will provide six oil to salt heat exchangers.

The feedwater heaters are used to increase the temperature, through the extracting steam from various points of the turbine, and thus improving the plant’s overall heat rate.

Once completed, the power project will deliver 280MW of electricity, and will serve renewable energy power demands in the southwest US.

TEi is a subsidiary of Babcock Power, a supplier of technology, equipment and services to the power generation industry.
