Developed in collaboration with Austrian subsidiary of Gorlitz, the new solution is available as a software-as-a-service (SaaS), and is designed to address requirements of the Austrian energy market, which is characterized by a relatively low number of meter points per power supply company.

SMARTify can be used as a service by the electric utility providers by paying a monthly flat fee, which will reduce investments and also minimize risks.

The company will be responsible for the IT infrastructure, the software and the maintenance work.

Telekom Austria Group M2M managing director Bernd Liebscher said SMARTify eliminates requirement for one-off investments, enabling customers to concentrate on their core business and rely on the professional support of the company.

”SMARTify was specifically designed to meet the demands of the Austrian market, is the most cost-efficient solution currently available on the market and complies with all legal requirements,” Liebscher added.

”The introduction of smart metering allows for great synergies between telcos and power supply companies, enabling unparalleled cooperation between these two industries."

The platform guarantees a strict separation between the single utility providers and their data, ensuring that the power supply companies only have access to data generated by their end-customers.

Besides automated meter reading (AMR) and meter data and metering devices management, SMARTify is claimed to offer comprehensive operational management and alarm functionalities.
