Other ten utilities will contribute about JPY 4.62bn ($59.88m) to the entity while the Japanese government has agreed to donate about JPY7bn ($90.73m) which is almost half of the total JPY14bn ($181.45m) required by the organization.

The proceeds will be used to fund the entity and pay for staff and the utilities will also make separate contributions to pay for compensation.

TEPCO is expected to provide the highest amount of funding followed by Kansai Electric, which will contribute JPY1.22bn ($15.81m) and Kyushu Electric Power contributing JPY660m ($8.55m).

J-Power and Japan Nuclear Fuel have agreed to pay about JPY100m ($1.29m) each.
