The new ESA toolkit adds a wide wireless waveform library covering over 20 wireless cellular and connectivity standards. The new toolkit enables the same debug tools and the measurement algorithms to span design, bench verification and the ATE for easy correlation. The ESA Toolkit is used in conjunction with the UltraFLEX Background DSP, which allows full modulation test in volume multisite production with zero test time impact for the data transfer, computation and datalogging. The new ESA Toolkit is supported and available on UltraFLEX test system’s RF, analog and digital instruments and is also available for the use with off-line IG-XL workstations.

“The ESA Toolkit sets the standard for modulated signal analysis in ATE,” stated Wilson Wang, deputy director and Testing Engineering department manager of Realtek. “Our test engineering group can effortlessly add key tests such as EVM and Spectral Mask, even for MIMO device configurations. When product engineering wants to compare results with the bench equipment, we can now use the same software environment on UltraFLEX as in the lab.”

“The ESA Toolkit has been well received by customers, with most of the UltraWave 12G specifiers currently using it,” stated Kyle Klatka, product manager of Teradyne’s Wireless Business Unit. “We are pleased that Realtek has selected the ESA Toolkit not only to reduce test development and debug time, but also to lower their cost of test and increase product quality in production. Modulated signal analysis is becoming more common as baseband, RF and other functions continue to integrate into a single RF SIP/SOCs. And emerging standards such as W-CDMA, WLAN 802.11n, WiMAX and LTE are driving requirements for more mission mode system testing in production.”
