The company designed the well to target lower cretaceous channel sandstone sequences that are similar to the current major producing unit in the Doris field.

The well is expected to take around 45 to 50 days to drill to a planned total depth of 2,400m.

Dexa exploration well is expected to include14 million barrels gross mean unrisked recoverable prospective oil in the cretaceous sequences, according to the company.

Tethys is currently producing 3,300 barrels of oil per day from its three producing wells, after resoving the mechanical issues related to the downhole pumps.

The company holds operational activities in the Republics of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Republic of Georgia.
