Alberta-based Parkland Pipeline caters to the oil and gas industry and provides technical, engineering services and builds pipelines and oilfield facilities in the country.

Tetra Tech chairman and CEO Dan Batrack said through the acquisition, the company will be able to expand its services better serve the pipeline industry customers in North America.

"We will be able to offer pipeline clients a cross-border, full-service solution," Batrack added.

Parkland will operate under Tetra Tech’s Remediation and Construction Management segment. The firm has about 900 staff and nearly C$140m in annual revenue.

Subject to approval from the Competition Bureau of Canada, the deal is expected to close in the second quarter of Tetra Tech’s fiscal 2013.
