TI has been a member of EnOcean Alliance since 2008 and by upgrading to promoter status TI reinforces its commitment to EnOcean’s energy harvesting wireless technology and will provide its knowhow in energy-efficient integrated circuits (ICs).

TI, which has been supplying its ICs for use in a number of EnOcean modules since 2005, has expanded its collaboration with EnOcean in June 2010 in the area of energy harvesting and expects EnOcean’s battery less and wireless technology to open new avenues for energy-efficient buildings.

The EnOcean Alliance, counts more than 160 members worldwide, including companies from the building technology and electronics sectors to establish EnOcean as an international standard for energy efficient building buildings.

EnOcean Alliance chairman, Graham Martin said that with Texas Instruments as a new promoter in the Alliance, the alliance can boast a highly reputed, global partner to spread the benefits of energy harvesting technology.

“This in-depth cooperation will contribute to defining the energy harvesting wireless technology and setting it up as a standard for energy-efficient buildings,” Martin said.
