This paper presents the results of an experimental study on a collector channel of a side spillway. It is shown that the use of floor blocks along the channel bottom improves hydraulic performance noticeably, as the magnitude of the pressure fluctuations is diminished and the free surface of the water becomes uniform in the collector channel.
