The UK government is to provide $1.54 million to support the development of a tidal power prototype. The Stingray, which operates from the oscillatory movement of hydroplanes driven by tidal flow, has been developed by Engineering Business Ltd. It would be located on the sea bed, reducing the need for protection in stormy weather.
