The well, which is the first of three Barnett wells, was drilled to a total depth of 7740ft into the Barnett shale formation.
Topaz COO Bob Lindsay said that during drilling, the company encountered good oil and gas shows in the Barnett and shallower formations.
“We now are running and analyzing electric logs to assess the productive capabilities of these formations,” Lindsay said.
Topaz focuses on production, acquisitions and developmental drilling opportunities within proven producing areas of north, central and west Texas.
