Toshiba and TEPCO will hold 85.1% and 14.9% stake in the JV, T. T. Network Infrastructure Japan Corporation.

Combining Toshiba’s power transformation and power grid solutions technologies with TEPCO’s expertise in grid planning, system design, operation and maintenance, the company will target markets from advanced nations to emerging economies, including India and Southeast Asia and Latin American countries.

Support services will initially be provided for the overseas T&D infrastructure projects promoted by Toshiba.

Specifically the company will develop a new, community-based business model, to offer solutions proposals from consulting and system supply through to construction, operation and maintenance.

The JV and Toshiba’s global bases are scheduled to be used by the two companies to offer business solutions tailored to regional requirements and conditions in future.

Toshiba’s current global organization to support the T&D business includes Switzerland-based electronic-metering company, Landis+Gyr.
