Under the contract, Toshiba will deliver two sets of 175MW STG.

To be owned and operated by Spanish engineering company Abengoa, the plant is expected to be one of the largest in teh country.

The Norte III CCPP project is expected to power more than 500,000 homes in a year while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the end cost of electricity for consumers.

Abengoa also serves as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor of the Norte III power plant.

Toshiba will begin delivery of the STG in August 2016 while the power plant is slated for commissioning in August 2017.

The Norte III project is the second to be constructed for the federal electricity commission CFE by Abengoa after the 640MW Centro Morelos plant.
