Toyota affiliate Toyota Tsusho has announced plans to enter the wind power generating sector in Japan. The company, which expects strong domestic demand, plans to set up 27 wind generators in the prefectures of Aomori, Akita, Niigata and Kagoshima. Generation is expected to start in December 2002. The company intends to buy two sizes of wind turbine generator, 1750 kW and 850 kW, both from the Danish company Vestas.
