Turkey-based Celikler Insaat was among the 16 companies who bid for privatization tender. Celikler placed the highest offer for the 600MW power generating plant, according to Industrial Info Resources.
In December 2012, Turkey had sold operating rights of Bogazici EDAS and Gediz EDAS for $1.96bn and $1.23bn, respectively.
Earlier, it was announced that the overall capacity in privatization is about 16,000MW and public authorities expect to get nearly $10bn of privatization income after electricity generation plant sales.
Plans were in place to privatize 1120MW Hamitabad CCPP, 1034MW Soma TPP, and 450MW Kangal. In addition, the authority is likely to privatize 320MW CFB plant in Turkey.
