During the recent snowy winter in Britain, the demand for gas supply has increased and maintaining a stock has become essential.

With the arrival of the first shipment of gas supply from Qatar and two more shipments due in the coming week, the country has assured enough gas supply to meet the rise in demand.

UK Energy Minister John Hayes said the country receives its gas supply from a wide range of sources and the market is responding well to the needs.

"Gas from the North Sea is flowing. As are pipelines bringing gas into the UK from Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway," Hayes added.

"A shipment of liquefied natural gas arrived yesterday and two more are due over the coming week.

"In fact, more gas was supplied than needed, allowing some replenishment of gas storage."

UK-based international electricity and gas company National grid is confident that the gas supply in the country is now stable and as expected.
