The EU will establish the water facility with funding of EUR200m ($285.15m) for people to have access to potable water and basic sanitation.

The partnership between the EU and UNICEF in Guinea Bissau will provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene in the region.

During three years, the project will benefit about 60,000 people in the regions of Quinara and Tombali.

The project is also expected to support and strengthen the capacities of institutions and authorities at national, regional and local levels, and the capacities of non-governmental organizations and the private sector to deliver quality services.
