Unipetrol said that the supply cuts are being caused by technical problems in Russia and the company is reportedly ensuring that there are no fuel shortages in the Czech market. The company said that prices will not change because of the supply outage.

Unipetrol is also reportedly co-operating with other refiners such as Ceska Rafinerska, which is owned by Shell and Eni, to compensate for decreased Russian oil supplies.

Ivan Ottis, Unipetrol management board member, said: At this moment our production is not affected in any way. There shall be no shortage of fuels on the home market, neither shall we see any price increase as a result of this short outage.
