The government has stated that INR7 to INR10 will be charged for each unit drawn, although the real cost of one unit ranges between INR2.30 and INR2.40.

Verma stated that the central administration must draft regulations in line with the central electricity code so that every one obtains sufficient power.

UPRVUP also condemned the Gadgil formula for power distribution between the Center and the states. The parishad stated that UP being the biggest state in the country should get a larger portion in the central pool.

The association has also insisted that the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) should send Unchahaar and Tanda power plant back to the state as the formula on which they have been claiming their income tax has been considered obsolete by the government itself.
