The vertical wind turbines were installed by UGE Iberia and will combine with GE’s electric vehicle charging technology to offer completely clean energy to power electric vehicles.
UGE CEO Nick Blitterswyk said that the Skypumps demonstrate a commitment to environment while providing useful customer service.
"Since launching the Sanya Skypump, we have received inquiries from companies around the world that are looking to embrace sustainability," added Blitterswyk.
The integrated system incorporates both the energy production capacity of UGE’s 4K wind turbine and the EV charging capability of the GE Durastation in a single unit, and is expected to be installed at locations in US and Australia later in 2012.
