The eco-friendly solar lights will be installed at all of the city bus stops and shelters; route signage and passenger information display upgrades at all stops; and a critical upgrades in route management systems.
Urban Solar stated that its PV-Stop systems are covered with vandal resistant powder to match transit agencies colour scheme.
Porterville transit manager Richard Tree said, "The goals for this project were to increase passenger safety and create identity and cohesiveness.
"Porterville chooses Urban Solar for their superior quality and quick installation, which has greatly reduced the overall project cost. Urban Solar’s staff and products were the perfect partner to solidify our project."
