TBK, a joint venture of BM and Turcas Energy, will evalaute the technical and financial specifications of the geothermal project.

USTDA country manager Heather Lanigan said: "We are very proud to have supported, either directly or indirectly, a substantial amount of Turkey’s more than 300 MW of operational geothermal energy.

"This project in Kuyucak will expand on that success, and will also build upon USTDA’s continued efforts to support renewable energy deployment in Turkey."

The grant to TBK is the third feasibility study supported by the USTDA for geothermal development in Turkey.

Previously, the USTDA backed geothermal projects developed by Gurmat Energy Investment and Trade and Zorlu Energy Group.
