The 574MW power plant has a pressurized-water reactor and is located about 35 miles east of Green Bay.
According to NRC, the license was renewed after safety and environmental reviews of the application submitted by the plant’s operator, Dominion Energy Kewaunee, in 2008.
The power station generates enough electricity to power approximately 140,000 homes.
The plant commenced commercial operation in 1974 and was acquired by Dominion in July 2005.
