OPTRA Inc from Massachusetts secures a $299,956 grant for developing an air quality monitoring equipment.

OPTRA chief technology officer Julia Rentz Dupuis said that the air quality monitoring technology developed by the company detects a broader range of compounds at very low levels.

"The overall approach represents a more versatile solution than conventional methods," said Dupuis.

EPA regional administrator at the New England office Curt Spalding added, "OPTRA is helping find new ways protect our environment, developing green jobs, and exploring innovation and technology solutions to environmental issues."

The other six companies to have secured the grants under EPA’s Small Business Innovation Research program include – FBS Inc., Lynntech Inc., TDA Research, Advanced Diamond Technologies, Adherent Technologies and Faraday Technology.
