Vattenfall has recently purchased the license for the new wind farm from the German company, Sandbank Power.

Initially, the wind farm will have a generating capacity of 576MW and can be further expanded.

Construction on the wind facility, Sandbank 24, is planned to commence in 2014.

Upon completion, the facility is expected to deliver renewable electricity to half a million German households.
