The transaction included Vattenfall’s subsidiary Nuon Power Generation Walloon, as well as Nuon Belgium, which has about 550,000 electricity and gas connections.

In July 2011, the company signed a deal with ENI to sell all of its operations in Belgium for about EUR157m on an enterprise value basis.

Vattenfall said the completion of this sale is an important step in implementing its new strategic direction, focusing on three core markets – Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands – as well as on certain strategic projects in other countries.
