The company will begin construction of this Zuidlob wind farm later this year and will invest SEK1.4bn ($202m) to build the facility.

The power project, which will be built west of Zeewolde, will include 36 wind turbines and is expected to commence operation in 2013.

Vattenfall head of renewables Anders Dahl said the facility will be the company’s largest onshore wind farm and this means nearly a doubling of wind power capacity in the Netherlands.

Vattenfall said it is prioritising wind power and will invest SEK26bn ($3.75bn) from 2011 through to 2015 for development of wind energy projects.
