The company will provide each utility a complete control center solution for the management of electric networks using the Ventyx Network Manager(TM) SCADA/Energy Management System (EMS) solution.

The Ventyx Network Manager SCADA/EMS is designed to enable power utilities to control and manage complex energy systems.

Ventyx Latin America vice president Roberto Falco said the solution will help CDEC-SIC continue to improve its system reliability following significant outages which last occurred following the major earthquake in Chile in 2010.

"The ability to demonstrate that our product and service capabilities addressed cyber-security standards, as set by North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), was particularly important for our customers in their adoption of Ventyx Network Manager," said Falco.

In Chile, Ventyx will implement the solution at CDEC-SIC, an independent system operator (ISO).

CDEC-SIC operates the Chilean electrical system whose coverage extends more than 2,000km across the southern and central regions.

UTE will upgrade its previous SCADA/EMS system to Ventyx Network Manager which will carry out automatic generation control to achieve regulation of interconnected power sources.

The state-owned Uruguayan utility will also adopt Ventyx’s advanced applications on high-voltage network
