The nine-year contract is worth estimated revenue of EUR 46m.
The contract includes performance targets such as leak reduction, as the ontauban municipality aims to improve the quality of its public water service.
Veolia Water is also planning to implement remote meter reading, which will enable it to warn customers in real time of abnormal changes to their consumption.
Veolia will also integrate the staff of the municipal water company and improve social improvements.
Veolia Water CEO Jean-Michel Herrewyn said that the firm will manage about 20,000 customers and operate two plants and 800km of water supply network.
