The project will be powered by four of GE’s Jenbacher Type-6 gas engines. Two of the engines are GE’s new 24-cylinder J624 GS units.

The Vest Energo project is expected to support Romania’s National Energy Efficiency Action Plan to modernize the country’s municipal and industrial district heating networks.

Vest Energo’s new plant will be powered by two of GE’s 3MW J620 GS units and two 4MW J624 GS engines, providing a total of 14MW of electricity and 13.5MW of thermal power.

The first phase will use J620 GS units that will be in service by the end of 2008, while the second phase will feature the J624 GS units and is scheduled to be commissioned by October 2009.
