Dong Energy has invested about EUR32m in the establishment of the test site.
The V164-7MW turbine is scheduled for installation in 2013 at the demonstration site, where Dong Energy has permission to install a total of six demonstration turbines.
As part of the demonstration, the parties will cooperate on a technical due diligence of the V164-7MW turbine.
Vestas Wind Systems president and CEO Ditlev Engel said the agreement with Dong Energy on the company’s coming offshore wind turbine has now been finalised.
"The test installation will provide Dong Energy with the most detailed insight into the turbine," Engel said.
