The wind farms located in Apulia, Basilicata, Campania and Sardinia regions include 110 units of V90-3.0 MW, V90-2.0 MW and V52-850 kW wind turbines.

The contract includes a 15-year service agreement under active output management option, wherein Vestas would conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the turbines.

FRI-EL Green Power vice president and CEO Josef Gostner said that the renewal comes after the recent signature of the Gorgoglione contract for the first V112 wind power plant in Italy.

"It also demonstrates our will to continue to have Vestas as the only service provider for 110 turbines for the next 15 years," he added.

The four wind power plants generate a cummulative 350,000MWh electricty per annum, reducing CO2 emissions by 135,000t.
