As part of the deal, Vestas will supply 67 V112 3MW wind turbines, each with a hub height of 84m and a rotor diameter of 112m, which are being built in stages in five locations.

The projects will produce about 721GWh of electricity annually, which can power about 200,000 households, once complete by the end of 2015.

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg CEO Frank Mastiaux said the firm’s commitment in Turkey is an important building block of corporate strategy and is based on long-term strategic assessment of the Turkish energy market.

"Abundant wind and the good, strong partnership with Borusan are the best preconditions for leveraging our opportunities here as well," Mastiaux added.

Borusan CEO Agah Ugur said, "Sustainability is a key factor for success and core determinant of our present as well as our future."
