The firm and unconditional order from SSE will see Vestas deliver 53 of its V117-3.45 MW and 13 V112-3.45 MW wind turbines.
Vestas claims that when built, Stronelairg will be its largest onshore wind project to date in the UK.
Delivery of the first turbines is planned for the third quarter of 2017, with commissioning anticipated to be completed by 2018.
The contract also includes a 20-year active output management 4000 full scope operations and maintenance deal.

In other press release, Vestas said the development of its V136-3.45 MW is progressing to plan with the first turbine having now been installed and the first produced kWh expected before year-end.
The company further improves turbine output with release of Power Optimised Modes up to 3.6MW.
The turbine has been installed at the Østerild national test center for large turbines in northern Denmark. It will undergo a test and verification programme before starting full-scale production, expected in second half of 2017.
