Under the contract, Vestas will deliver its 200 V110-2.0 MW turbines for Los Vientos III and IV projects in the first half of 2014. Commissioning is expected in 2015 and 2016.

The projects will include Vestas’ Active Output Management 5000 maintenance program.

The service option includes the VestasOnline surveillance system to remotely control and monitor the turbines.

Vestas president Chris Brown said the company won this deal, in a very competitive process, to deliver high quality services and products such as new V110-2.0 MW turbine."

"These turbines will be able to power nearly 120,000 Texas households with clean, reliable electricity for decades," Brown added.

"This order also will keep our US factories busy and create jobs for Vestas service technicians who ensure the turbines are producing the maximum amount of power."

For these projects, blades, nacelles and towers will be manufactured at Vestas’ plant in Colorado.
