The contract, which covers 15 V112 3.3MW turbines, is the second order in Latin America that Vestas has won from Grupo Cobra since September 2014.
Vestas expects to deliver the turbines in the second quarter of 2015 with commissioning planned by the first quarter of 2016.
The Larimar wind farm will generate about 227,000MWh of energy per year to supply for over 62,000 people in the Dominican Republic.
Grupo Cobra executive director Pedro Cuevas said: "We expect the Larimar wind power plant to take wind energy a step further in this country, and we are convinced that Vestas’ contribution in offering the best in class energy solutions will pave the way for more projects to come".
Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said: "We welcome this new order from Grupo Cobra, which enables us to further consolidate our presence in the Dominican Republic, where Vestas installed the country’s first large-scale wind farm in 2011."
In 2011, Vestas installed the first large-scale wind power plant, Juancho Los Cocos, in the Dominican Republic.
Vestas has delivered wind energy in 73 countries globally. Wind power from the company’s more than 52,700 wind turbines presently reduces over 60 million tons of carbon emissions per year.
