The scope of the contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, along with a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution as well as a 10-year AOM 4000 full-scope service agreement.
Located in the Constanta County in the province of Dobrogea, the project will take delivery of wind turbines in April 2014 and is likely to be commissioned by December 2014.
The project is expected to generate more than 300GWh per year, which is enough to power more than 550,000 persons in Romania, and curb around 124,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Vestas Central Europe president Thomas Richterich said that the company has secured the Crucea North order from Crucea Wind Farm and the project will further develop the Romanian wind market.
"With this order Vestas reinforces its market leading position in the Romanian market having the strongest local presence and the largest operational fleet," Richterich added.
