The order comprises supply and installation of the turbines, a VestasOnline business supervisory control and data acquisition system as well as a two-year service agreement.

These turbines will be able to satisfy the energy needs of 136,000 Italian households and are expected to save the environment from almost 148,000 tons of CO2. Delivery for the projects is scheduled to start during the first half of 2009, and the projects will be completed by the end of 2009.

Juan Araluce, president of Vestas Mediterranean, said: We are very pleased to announce the signing of this new contract and to reaffirm our working relationship with IVPC. Vestas is playing an important role in the development of wind power in Italy.
