The hydro power project is expected to produce 585GWh of electricity annually.
For the Budarhals project, Voith has supplied two Kaplan turbines along with water filled runner hubs.
The company has also provided generators with latest technology using brushless thyristor controlled exciters.
In addition, Voith’s project work also included the supply of powerhouse cranes and station control systems.
Landsvirkjun Budarhals project manager Gudlaugur Thorarinsson said, "Landsvirkjun made an agreement with Voith to supply all machinery and electrical equipment for the Budarhals hydropower plant in April 2010."
"All works on the project has been diligently completed in spite of harsh winter weathers and ambitious time schedule, while the company is satisfied with the performance of Voith," Thorarinsson said.
The first design for the Budarhals hydropower plant was conducted by Landsvirkjun in 1989 and later developed to the present design.
