Groupe Maïa owns 51% stake in Maïa Eolis while Engie owns the remaining 49%.
The acquired projects are either in development or in study phase and are scheduled to enter construction within the next two years. The deal allows Voltalia to acquire land rights for projects currently in the study phase.
The acquisition expands Voltalia’s global power portfolio to almost 1,600MW, 22% of which is based in France.
Voltalia CEO Sebastien Clerc said: "With the COP21 conference in Paris in a few months, we anticipate enhanced ambitions for the accelerated development of renewable energy in France by 2030, while the country currently lags behind its existing 2020 targets.
"Renewable energies will therefore keep growing in France."
Voltalia operates across solar, hydro and biomass sectors and has assets in France, Brazil, Greece, French Guiana, and Morocco.
