The cluster, Serra Branca, includes 183MW of operating plants and 99MW of projects under construction. Voltalia is set to begin construction on another 27MW of wind power plants.
The 90MW Areia Branca and 93MW Vamcruz wind farms, part of Serra Branca, were placed into service in December last year.
Voltalia said that the cluster, located in the Rio Grande do Norte, will also include the 99MW Vila Pará1 site and the Vila Acre project, which was won during the November 2015 national auctions.
A 52km-long transmission line with a 400 MVA capacity will be used to transfer the power generated at the cluster to the national grid.

The cluster also includes over 700 MW of projects under development and 330MW in advanced prospecting.
The wind power plants within the cluster will be built in partnerships or will be completely owned by the company.
Voltalia’s total installed capacity in Brazil amounts to 303MW.
The company recently commissioned phase I of the Oiapoque hybrid plant in Brazil. The hybrid plant includes a 12MW thermal plant and 7.5MW hydroelectric plant.
