This relationship will promote environmental awareness and leadership in communities across the US.
Wells Fargo director of environmental affairs Mary Wenzel said the grant envisages accelerating a transition to a greener economy.
NFWF executive director and CEO Jeff Trandahl said, "Through this initiative, we will expand the resources available for innovative projects that benefit our environment and the wellbeing of our citizens."
Wells Fargo will also fund projects and entrepreneurial programs that support clean technologies, such as, green buildings, alternative transportation, water technologies, and sustainable agriculture practices.
Wells Fargo expects to dole out the $100m grant by the year 2020.
