The purpose-built combined wind and solar project has a capacity of 10.5MW, and is located in Kingman.

The power project includes five units of Gamesa G-90 2MW wind turbine generator and 500kW of solar panels on a single axis tracking system.

The electricity generated by the combined facility will be sold to Unisource Electric Services, through a power purchase agreement.

Western Wind Energy CEO Jeff Ciachurski said the new facility is a ground breaking development in the renewable energy industry where two completely separate types of technology and renewable fuel sources are integrated at the very beginning as a combined facility.

"Integration of multiple renewable fuel sources allows for the maximization of existing transmission infrastructure by having a greater range of time of day availability," Ciachurski said.

Western Wind Energy is the owner and operator of the new renewable power project.
